Your buildings and contents insurance will probably be affected so this needs to be checked. 3. Discuss your tax position with your accountant. 4. Choose your working area with care. 5. Think about what office equipment you need. Can it be bought second hand or leased. 6. Will you need separate phone lines, fax machine, internet? 7. Consider the security aspect of working from home and having expensive equipment on the premises and take appropriate precautions. 8. Be aware of your neighbors and consider their rights as residents. 9. Be professional. Have quality stationery printed and establish a clear work/home boundary. 10. Manage yourself.
