1. Decide whether to use an Image Consultant or to self-design. 2. Choose an image that emphasises company strengths and goals. 3. Select a business name and logo. 4. Choose appropriate company colours. 5. Choose a suitable typeface. 6. Apply these choices to all company stationery, web-pages etc. 7. Any company vehicles and premises should be similarly branded. 8. Consider any uniform requirements or dress codes that may be appropriate. 9. Ensure that company premises convey the desired corporate image. 10. Stick with the image for a considerable period of time. 11. Keep staff informed of how the image works for the company and how they can support it. Do: Reflect the company's strengths and unique qualities. Buy the best image you can afford. Make the image work hard for the company's profile. Keep staff trained and informed in implementation of the corporate image. Don't: Keep changing the image. Chose an image which pitches expectations of the company too high. Forget to check that any trading names or logos are not already registered to another company.
